Specializing in life science innovations, Joe joined OCCD in 2014 and primarily works with Oregon State University researchers to expand OSU’s impact from the Colleges of Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, and Science. He also applies his knowledge and experience in molecular and developmental biology, genetics, therapeutics, and diagnostics, to work with OSU researchers from all colleges and units to protect and commercialize life science inventions.
Joe is a registered patent agent with experience drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications across a broad range of life science technology. He has successfully negotiated license agreements for technologies related to food science, animal cloning, antimicrobials, therapeutics, diagnostics, and more.
Prior to joining OCCD, Joe worked for five years as an Intellectual Property Manager at Utah State University’s Office of Technology Commercialization and Development. He obtained his PhD in Biology from the University of Oregon, where he studied cell fate differentiation of neuronal cells.
